When I was 18 - 25, I thought I could conquer the world. With much zeal, energy and passion, everything can be done or that is what I always told myself. I even thought that I could conquer any female I wanted without using Extenze. Yes, that is what being at the peak of your physical health can cause you to believe. But alas, things does not last long. I came to realize what millions of others have realized. We grow old and our bodies degenerate as time passes by.

When I got married, I enjoyed having sex with my wife. It is indeed the best gift that God provides for married couples. It is the uniting of two beautiful beings physically and spiritually. Now that I’m much older, my wife and I do find that we can’t perform as “vigorous” as we want to. Now I realize that many males out there need some support in their sexual activities. It is not so much of having a big ego but more of providing satisfaction for both parties. Male enhancement products like Extenze or Extenze alternatives does help and I believe it is okay and good for males who need some support to try out these products. If it brings satisfactions to both parties and brings them closer together, go for it. Check out whether these male enhancement products have natural herbs like Tongkat Ali, L-arginine, Epimedium, Tribulus Terrestris, and Cnidium Monnier.

My father-in-law gave me one plastic bag of raw Tongkat Ali roots when I got married. Did not need to use that at that time. Not sure where I kept it. Must go look for it coz I wouldn’t know when I will need it. So far still okay.

When you want to know more about heart diseases, then you must first begin to understand the various types of heart disease that are prevalent today. For example, faulty mitral valve in a newborn baby is considered as one type of heart disease and an aged man, say a 65 years old male, may have a clogged artery due to plaque deposits and this condition is also termed as one type of heart disease. Hence the most important organ of your body namely your heart may even suffer from one or more of such disease conditions.

Let us have a broad look at the various types of heart disease that are known to commonly attack persons.

Atherosclerosis

The term Atherosclerosis refers to the fatty plaque deposits over the inner walls of your arteries and this is caused due to presence of higher levels of cholesterol in your blood. The plaque will effectively block free blood flow and hence your body cells will be deprived of enough oxygen. Your heart muscles will also get affected in this circumstance and eventually will lose its efficiency.

This particular condition is referred to congestive heart failure and may lead to small heart attacks and reduce your heart s overall efficiency. Atherosclerosis is responsible for causing almost half of the entire deaths happening in the United States alone.

Rheumatic Heart Disease

Rheumatic heart disease is a yet another type of heart disease that is caused due to rheumatic fever. Rheumatic fever is known to affect persons, especially children, if the strep throat infection is left untreated.

The onset of rheumatic fever will in turn affect connective tissues and the heart valves leading to a condition wherein your heart valve will fail in its action of opening and closing properly. Rheumatic heart disease in its lesser form may not need any treatment, but in case of severity may require surgical intervention either for repairing or replacing heart valves.

Congenital Heart Disease

Normally you are born with this congenital heart disease and under such circumstance, your heart will be malformed and/or with improper functioning of heart valves. The severity of this congenital heart disease may vary very widely and the severely affected babies will exhibit quick exhaustion and difficulty in breathing, and sometimes may lead to sudden death.

Myocarditis

The inflammation in heart muscles is referred to as Myocarditis and it is usually an end result of some other infection affecting your body. A myocarditis condition will let out symptoms such as chest pain, shortness of breath and fatigue. A heart transplant is the only cure for this type of heart disease and many of the doctors prefer to treat the ailment with medications based on symptoms.

Arrhythmias

Whenever your heart loses its rhythm, then this type of heart disease is named as arrhythmias. There are two variations in arrhythmias, the first one bradycardia refers to a condition where your heart will have lower beat rate and the second tachycardia refers to an abnormally increase or higher heart rate. A yet another, but rare type of fibrillation may occur in arrhythmias, and under this condition you will feel a pulsating heart due to the difficulty in blood pumping.

If you are experiencing any of the symptoms that you may relate to some type of heart disease, then it is better you get an appointment with your doctor and get yourself thoroughly diagnosed.

It is always interesting to hear about new inventions or new breakthroughs. It reminds me of Archimedes who shouted “Eureka” after he found a great discovery, the principle of buoyancy that is related to the density of his body and the amount of water that it replaced. Well, you can search and read more about it online.

There is another Great Discovery: Zenni Optical for people who wants to find good and but at the same time cheap glasses. Those who have tried it can agree that it is the Best Thing Found: Zenni Optical. It is not a wonder since you can find Zenni Optical $8 Rx Glasses on their website. Go and check it out.

It is always good for business to have competitions. I am talking businesses competing with each other in a healthy environment. Yes, there are times when the competition is one-sided and a big detriment to the business itself. Talking about healthy business competition, I am reminded of the new internet marketing. This new strategy where audio ads are “shown” to every visitor to the website or blogs is indeed a good and healthy competition to the existing ads marketing companies. For blog or website owners, all you need to do is to monetize your blog or site by signing up and add the various codes required to display the audio ads. It is as easy as that. So, do not wait any further, go and monetize your site. It is a strategy that benefits both the advertisers and the website or blog owners.

What would happened if you are working everyday and have no off days for you to rest? I guess lots of things can happened especially those that affects your health. Yes, starting this year, I would be working everyday at my shop until I can get another temporary staff or reschedule my working time. One thing for sure is that I would not have my regular weekly football game which I really look forward to. Looks like I would have to figure out ways to do simple exercises everyday in order to keep my body healthy. Or else, in 10 years down the road, I would have to consider going to lap-band Houston. Hope that would not be something that I really have to consider. As for now, I would just go for 30 minutes exercises and fun time with my children. I think they too needs to exercise and it would be fun to exercise with them.

Many of us dream about having flat tummy. Ok, maybe we don’t dream about it but I’m sure most of us want to have a flat tummy instead of the protruding big tummy. Being a sportsman I know that it is not easy to have flat tummy. I tried many ways and methods but surprisingly most of the methods are not effective. Upon searching the net about flat tummy, I came across this article by By Jill Ross, HealthAtoZ contributing writer. It is worth the reading.

absIf you dream of tightening your tummy but dread doing endless sets of sit-ups, then California researchers have good news for you. The classic sit-up, they say, is not the best answer for stronger, flatter abdominals.

A study led by Peter Francis, Ph.D., at the biomechanics lab at San Diego State University put different abdominal exercises to the test and found that not all are created equal.

The traditional sit-up - or crunch - fell close to the bottom in a ranking of the ab exercises.

“The sit-up is ineffective,” Francis says. Typically, he says, people do sit-ups by lying with their back on the floor, with their legs straight or knees bent. Then, they sit all the way up, relying on their hips and less on their abdominals. Not only is a sit-up ineffective but it can strain the back, Francis adds.

Perhaps another surprise finding was that despite the advertising hype, some abdominal exercise equipment tested, including the Torso Track and Ab Roller, either were no more effective or only marginally more effective than a regular crunch you can do at no cost.

“You don’t have to spend $150 on a piece of exercise equipment to strengthen your abs,” Francis says.

Tummy-tightening comparison

The San Diego study, sponsored by the American Council on Exercise (ACE), compared 13 of the most common abdominal exercises, some involving equipment, and ranked them from most to least effective. The study included 30 healthy men and women, ages 20 to 45, who were either occasional or daily exercisers. Each was put through a battery of exercises, including the traditional crunch, modified crunches, partial body-weight exercises and exercises using both home and gym exercise equipment. Muscle activity was monitored during each exercise using electromyography equipment.

Each of the 13 exercises was ranked for muscle stimulation in the rectus abdominus (the long, flat muscle extending the length of the front of the abdomen) and the obliques (the long, flat muscles extending along the sides of the abdomen at an angle).

The top three abdominal exercises were:

Bicycle maneuver. To do this exercise, you lie flat on the floor with your lower back pressed to the ground. Put your hands beside your head. Bring your knees up to about a 45-degree angle and slowly go through a bicycle pedal motion. Touch your left elbow to your right knee, then your right elbow to your left knee. Breathe evenly throughout the exercise.

Captain’s chair. This was one of the few on the “most effective” list that involves gym equipment. To do the exercise, stabilize your upper body by gripping the handholds and lightly pressing your lower back against the back pad of the chair-like equipment. The starting position begins with you holding your body up and legs dangling below. Now slowly lift your knees in toward your chest. The motion should be controlled and deliberate as you bring your knees up and return them back to the starting position.

If you do not have access to a captain’s chair, Francis says you can improvise by hanging from a bar, although that may be difficult for many people who aren’t in shape.

Crunch on exercise ball. A high-quality exercise ball, which costs about $30 depending on the size, is needed to do this exercise. Sit on the ball with your feet flat on the floor. Let the ball roll back slowly. Now lie back on the ball until your thighs and torso are parallel with the floor. Cross your arms over your chest and slightly tuck your chin in toward your chest. Contract your abdominals raising your torso to no more than 45 degrees. For better balance, spread your feet wider apart. To work the oblique muscles, make the exercise less stable by moving your feet closer together. Exhale as you contract; inhale as you return to the starting position.

If you do a crunch, researchers found you are better off doing a vertical crunch (which ranked number four on the list of most effective ab exercises for the rectus abdominus) or a reverse crunch (which ranked number three for strengthening the obliques).

“These crunches don’t put as much stress on your back,” Francis says, as a traditional sit-up type crunch.

To do a vertical crunch: Lie flat on the floor with your lower back pressed to the ground. Put your hands behind your head for support. Extend your legs straight up in the air, crossed at the ankles with a slight bend in the knee. Contract your abdominal muscles by lifting your torso toward your knees. Make sure to keep your chin off your chest with each contraction. Exhale as you contract upward; inhale as you return to the starting position.

To do a reverse crunch: Lie flat on the floor with your lower back pressed to the ground. Put your hands beside your head or extend them out flat to your sides - whatever feels most comfortable. Crossing your feet at the ankles, lift your feet off the ground to the point where your knees create a 90-degree angle. Once in this position, press your lower back on the floor as you contract your abdominal muscles. Your hips will slightly rotate and your legs will reach toward the ceiling with each contraction. Exhale as you contract; inhale as you return to the starting position.

Abs need regular workout

Unlike strength training, Francis says abdominal exercises should be done frequently rather than for intense periods. “Abdominal strength isn’t the same as working on big muscles with large resistance,” he says. Instead, what’s needed is “endurance training for the abdominals.”

Five minutes a day of abdominal exercises can make a difference if you do it regularly.

If one exercise feels uncomfortable or is too difficult, then Francis says try others. The captain’s chair exercise, for example, might be too stressful for someone who has low back pain or is out of shape.

However, strengthening the abs can actually help maintain good posture and alleviate lower back pain, Francis says. As with any fitness program, though, check with your doctor first before starting abdominal exercises.

While the best ab exercises can help you reach a goal of a flatter, tighter tummy, Francis cautions, too, that they are only part of the equation. Diet is another part.

While the best ab exercises can help you reach a goal of a tighter tummy, it will not necessarily make the stomach “flatter”. For a healthy-looking mid section, a combination of ab work, proper diet, and regular aerobic exercise is the most effective strategy.

“You can have the tightest abs on earth, but if you have 10 pounds of lard covering them up, you won’t see that,” Francis says.

Doing research

I have never been a research assistant and I think I know why. It is for the simple reason that I do not like to study. Sometimes I am amazed at those who loves to study and do research. Their mind is like a dry sponge, always wanting to absorb knowledge and information. And it seems that they are always thirsty for more and more knowledge.

I have finished my degree and has not plans yet to study for Masters. I think if ever I were to do my Masters, I would have to engage the service of MasterPapers.com to help me out with my Research Papers. Their services include guidance on formal research and writing, plus know-how on Internet research and citing of electronic material that I can download. No, it is not because I am lazy but I know I really need help on this area. It is better to humble myself and succeed rather than be proud and failed my research paper.

Let me introduce another muscle pain relief cream that is Voltaren Emulgel.

It provides temporary relief for local pain and inflammation in sore joints and muscles. It is good to have at least one pain relief cream in the house just in case of emergency. What is Voltaren good for - general aches and pains, back, neck and shoulder pain. It relieves pain and reduces swelling. It is for local application for inflamed tendons, ligaments, muscles and joints due to trauma, soft tissue rheumatism and localised rheumatic diseases.

Voltaren Emulgel contains diclofenac sodium 196 w/w in a transdermal gel base. Transdermal means that the contents could cross through the skin and do what it is supposed to do i.e. provide relief. However, there are some precautions that you need to be aware of (just as any other pain relief cream). Firstly, it is not to be swallowed (meaning…. please keep it out of children/toddler’s hands). Secondly, please avoid direct contact with eyes or mucous membranes. Use it only to intact skin and never to skin wounds or open injuries. Thirdly, as common sense requires - please wash your hands after applying/using Voltaren Emulgel.

Voltaren is prescription free cream meaning that you do not need a doctor’s prescription before you can use it. However, if you are allergic to Diclofenac or other NSAIDs, kindly abstain from Voltaren. Check with your doctor if you are not sure what you are allergic to. And last but not least, the company provides free delivery worldwide.

Petai

PETAI or Parkia Speciosa (Stink bean)

Little did you know …… after reading THIS, you’ll NEVER look at petai in the same way again!

Petai contain three natural sugars -sucrose, fructose and glucose - combined with fiber, petai gives an instant, sustained and substantial boost of energy. Research has proved that just two servings of petai provide enough energy for a strenuous 90-minute workout. No wonder petai is the number one fruit with the world’s leading athletes. But energy isn’t the only way petai can help us keep fit. It can also help overcome or prevent a substantial number of illnesses and conditions, making it a must to add to our daily diet.

Depression:
According to a recent survey undertaken by MIND among people suffering from depression, many felt much better after eating petai. This is because petai contain tryptophan, a type of protein that the body converts into serotonin, known to make you relax, improve your mood and generally make you feel happier.

PMS(premenstrual syndrome):
Forget the pills - eat petai. The vitamin B6 it contains regulates blood glucose levels, which can affect your mood.

Anemia:
High in iron, petai can stimulate the production of hemoglobin in the blood and so helps in cases of anemia.

Blood Pressure:
This unique tropical fruit is extremely high in potassium yet low in salt, making it the perfect to beat blood pressure. So much so, the US Food and Drug Administration has just allowed the petai industry to make official claims for the fruit’s ability to reduce the risk of blood pressure and stroke.

Brain Power:
200 students at a Twickenham (Middlesex) school were helped through
their exams this year by eating petai at breakfast, break, and lunch in
a bid to boost their brain power. Research has shown that the
potassium-packed fruit can assist learning by making pupils more alert.

Constipation :
High in fiber, including petai in the diet can help restore normal bowel action, helping to overcome the problem without resorting to laxatives.

Hangovers:
One of the quickest ways of curing a hangover is to make a petai milkshake, sweetened with honey. The petai calms the stomach and, with the help of the honey, builds up depleted blood sugar levels, while the milk soothes and re-hydrates your system.

Heartburn:
Petai has a natural antacid effect in the body, so if you suffer from heartburn, try eating petai for soothing relief.

Morning Sickness:
Snacking on petai between meals helps to keep blood sugar levels up and avoid morning sickness.

Mosquito bites:
Before reaching for the insect bite cream, try rubbing the affected area with the inside of the petai skin. Many people find it amazingly successful at reducing swelling and irritation.

Nerves:
Petai is high in B vitamins that help calm the nervous system.

Overweight:
Studies at the Institute of Psychology in Austria found pressure at work leads to gorging on comfort food like chocolate and crisps. Looking at 5,000 hospital patients, researchers found the most obese were more likely to be in high-pressure jobs. The report concluded that, to avoid panic-induced food cravings, we need to control our blood sugar levels by snacking on high carbohydrate foods every two hours to keep levels steady.

Ulcers:
Petai is used as the dietary food against intestinal disorders because of its soft texture and smoothness. It is the only raw fruit that can be eaten without distress in over-chronicler cases. It also neutralizes over-acidity and reduces irritation by coating the lining of the stomach.

Temperature control:
Many other cultures see petai as a “cooling” fruit that can lower both the physical and emotional temperature of expectant mothers. In holland, for example, pregnant women eat petai to ensure their baby is born with a cool temperature.

Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) :
Petai can help SAD sufferers because they contain the natural mood enhancer, tryptophan.

Smoking:
Petai can also help people trying to give up smoking. The B6, B12 they contain, as well as the potassium and magnesium found in them, help the body recover from the effects of nicotine withdrawal.

Stress:
Potassium is a vital mineral, which helps normalize the heartbeat, sends oxygen to the brain and regulates your body’s water balance. When we are stressed, our metabolic rate rises, thereby reducing our potassium levels. These can be rebalanced with the help of a high-potassium petai snack.

Strokes:
According to research in “The New England Journal of Medicine, ” eating petai as part of a regular diet can cut the risk of death by strokes by as much as 40%”

Warts:
Those keen on natural alternatives swear that if you want to kill off a wart, take a piece of petai and place it on the wart. Carefully hold the petai in place with a plaster or surgical tape! So, you see, petai really is a natural remedy for many ills. When you compare it to an apple, it has four times the protein, twice the carbohydrates, three times the phosphorus, five times the vitamin A and iron, and twice the other vitamins and minerals. It is also rich in potassium and is one of the best value foods around. So maybe its time to change that well-known phrase so that we say, “A Petai a day keeps the doctor away.”
